This is actually a fairly complex issue, as what you're seeing is a physical limitation of your trainer and how we have it set up in Zwift.
Each mag trainer's recommended resistance setting has a maximum wattage limit: some settings are more accurate at lower speeds, while others allow you to hit higher speeds. Given the setting that we're using for Zwift, the maximum output you're seeing is about right for the recommended power curve.
The reason we chose our resistance setting number is because it's the most accurate for representing real watts in a virtual ride. The physical limitation of the magnetic resistance unit is creating the upper cap, not Zwift. If you chose a different resistance setting (say, a higher one), it may be more realistic for a sprint, but at every other speed, it will read too high.
We may eventually calculate a different virtual power curve for each resistance level, but mag trainers in general can greatly vary in their accuracy due to the placement of the resistance adjustment cable. Moving the cable can move the magnet within the trainer itself, sometimes changing the wattage output by 100 watts or more. Placing it on your handlebars, versus leaving it on the ground, versus coiling it up and putting it out of the way can all change the way the wattage is reported (to akurat dla mnie trochę absurdalne, owszem poruszanie kabla może zmienić obciążenie, ale niezależnie gdzie leży przekładnia, mogę ją ustawić na dane obciążenie). This inherent inaccuracy, in addition to the work hours it would take for us to calculate the different curves, makes it a complicated task for us.
While generally not a big deal when doing regular interval training, it starts to create a lot of problems in Zwift where we are simulating a real, outdoor ride and you can't change the dial to match your speed.
I like to compare this situation to outgrowing a trainer in Zwift. If you're consistently maxing out your wattage, it may be time to consider either getting a power meter, or looking at a smart trainer or fluid trainer.
